Hipster Lettuce is a small, family-run business — everything is made and packaged by hand. Because of our boutique size, orders ship Mondays and Tuesdays, with delivery taking up to 4 business days once posted. Due to the perishable nature of our natural ferments, we're unable to ship to PO boxes.Fermentation is a time-tested preservation technique: it maintains a low pH that prevents harmful bacteria from growing, while cultivating probiotic bacteria that thrive in temperatures up to 110°F.That said, we use cold shipping to keep flavor and texture consistent, and ask that you refrigerate your order upon arrival — both to preserve quality and to prevent contamination once the jar is opened and utensils (or fingers!) go in. Your ferments are kept refrigerated right up until they leave our hands, so please refrigerate immediately upon receipt.Once your tracking number is emailed to you, any delivery delays are the responsibility of the carrier (USPS, FedEx, or UPS). If there's an issue with your package on arrival, please photograph the damage and email your order number to Matthew@HipsterLettuce.com within 2 days of delivery.
